LIGHTNING Strikes IN RIO DE JANEIRO CHRIST
Heavy lightning and downpour storm has cleared crosswise over Rio de Janeiro, flooding avenues and thumping out force in a few neighborhoods.
Sirens cautioning occupants of the threat of mudslides sounded in numerous zones of the city. Every year Rio usually has a major storm, but this one did just a little more harm.
The storm passed 90 minutes later, yet there was no saying on when light might be restored for a huge number of inhabitants.
Lightning has broke off a finger the right hand of Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
Authorities said Friday that the right thumb was chipped, obviously by a lightning strike Thursday night.
