Beach Bikes that Have No Breaks
I went to my friends house last week. I live in sunny California and judging by what I just explained California as you can assume that there was no rain. In fact it was 80 Degrees in January. While other people are going through a major Polar Vortex I was lucky enough to have hot weather and go to the beach. Back to the point, I went to my friends beach home. Not exactly a beach home, he lives near the beach. I told him to meet me near the peer. When he came , he had this white bike with big wheels and a small basket. I love sports and bikes so I thought id get on. Keep in mind that ive only ridden mountain bikes before. So I get on this thing and he says ‘Are you sure you know how to ride?” ¬†and I got offended for one second and I said “Of course, What do you think Im 2?”¬†
He shrugged and he got off the bike. I jumped on and started paddling near the empty peer. I looked up at the seagulls flying around. I was getting to far from him and I tried to stop. I squeezed my left hand and saw there was no clutch. I thought it was a broken bike. I thought ‘omg, how do I get off.’ So he shouted ‘PADDEL BACKWARDS.’ I did and it stopped. So I learned¬†
1. Never to go on a beach bike again.
2. Paddle Backwards
Do you have any cool beach bike stories?
